Hi All, I’m delighted to announce the release of InstantForum 2013-1. This update contains several new jQuery mobile themes designed to offer you more choice for your mobile community. We've also fixed a number of bugs discovered since the 2013 release earlier this month. Existing InstantForum 2013 customers can download the 2013-1 update right now from your My Licenses page. For further upgrade instructions please refer to our InstantForum 2013 to 2013-1 upgrade article. To learn more about the updates and fixes in this release please read on… 8 New Flat iOS7 style Mobile Themes We've taken some of the beautiful flat jQuery mobile themes created by the Graphite team and included these within InstantForum 2013-1. These themes better suite the new flat design style introduced in iOS7 and provide a cleaner, more minimal design. The new mobile themes whilst they are all included within the 2013-1 download are completely optional. We still use the standard jQuery mobile theme by default. We will be posting further information very soon on how you can use the new themes and even create your own mobile themes using the jQuery Mobile theme roller. We also plan to post information on how you can download 3rd party jQuery Mobile themes and how you can use these within InstantForum. Keep an eye on our support center for posts in the near future. The new themes included in the 2013-1 release include… Aloe Candy Melon Mint Royal Sand Slate Water New Windows Phone 8 Theme (Alpha) We've also added a very early Windows Phone 8 theme. The Windows Phone 8 theme is very much still in beta but we wanted to include this in a release early to start getting your feedback. We would not suggest using this theme on a production site at the moment. We are aiming to offer a fully working Windows Phone 8 theme for the next point release. General Improvements We've significantly increased the performance for the Forum Activity panel. This panel would previously take some time to load if your site was being heavily indexed by Google or if you simply had lots of concurrent traffic. The web service that returns the data for this panel has been rewritten to ensure this panel will now load quickly even if you have thousands of concurrent users. Bug Fixes Even after months of testing building up to our 2013 release we knew due to the size of the 2013 release and the complete migration to C# there would probably be a few bugs. Considering the size of this release we didn't do bad to be fair. Below is a list of the issues we've fixed in 2013-1. We are still aware of a few very minor issues with font sizing within the theme roller and will be working to resolve these in the next update. Fixed bug if you edited a post with attachments and added a new attachment the previous attachments were cleared Fixed bug with full text search on SQL Server 2012 Fixed delete post not deleting attachments Fixed bug that prevented attachments from being viewed by anonymous users Fixed bug that prevented user levels from showing in user card on events page Fixed bug that would send followers a notification for forums they didn’t have access to (thanks Jeremy) Fixed issue with member level image on user profile page not showing if SEO URLs were enabled Fixed null reference exception on manage attachments page Fixed redirect bug when clicking username at the very top of a topic if SEO URLS were enabled Fixed request abortion client side message (i.e. user clicks away from page before load is complete) This is not a huge feature update compared to our 2013 release but we really wanted to quickly address the top issues you've been reporting since our 2013 release. Thank You! Thank you to all of those who submitted feedback during the 2013 release. A special thank you to David, Eddy, Ant, Matthew, Jeremy & Chris – your feedback proved invaluable as always and we sincerely appreciate you taking the time to help us make our products better.
