We are super excited today to announce the official release of our InstantKB 2016 update.
This update introduces dozens of new features and hundreds of improvements. In this blog posts I'll share some of the key improvements however I encourage you review our complete list of changes within our InstantKB 2016 Release Notes.
With InstantKB 2016 we've introduced versions, history & roll backs for all content within your knowledgebase - one of our most requested features.
We've made dozens of improvement when working with customers through various support channels from within the InstantKB Agent CP. Support agents can now label tickets, manually set due dates, manually edit time worked or defer tickets using escalation rules. Customers can now close or escalate there own support tickets through the web interface.
We've shown contact profiles some love with a a complete overhaul showing key metrics and edit options for each support contact...

Is InstantKB 2016 a free upgrade?
If you purchased a InstantKB 2015 on-premise license on or after January 1st 2016 or you have a active InstantKB support plan our InstantKB 2016 release is a free update for you. If you purchased InstantKB before this time and you don't have an active InstantKB support plan you will need to purchase our InstantKB 2016 upgrade.

If your entitled to this update you should see the InstantKB 2016 download right now on your My Licenses page.
Are there any breaking changes?
Yes. If your upgrading from a previous version of InstantKB to the 2016 release you will need to consider the following breaking changes.
I'm a hosted customer can i get the upgrade?
We'll be contacting hosted InstantKB customers over the coming weeks to ensure you wish to upgrade and if so schedule a convenient maintenance window to perform the upgrade. If you would like to expadite this process don't hesitate to submit a support request.
More Seats, Same Price
To celebrate this release for our on-premise customers we've also increased the number of support agent seats available for each price band. All new & existing on-premise InstantKB customers will now get an extra 5 agent seats at no additional cost.

We'll be adding support for localized articles with tools to help you manage content translations. We'll also be introducing mark down support to help you create clean, simple support content. On the technical side we'll be developing out our REST API to help support planned 3rd party integration's ad will be developing those integration's.
We are commuted to supporting the latest technologies and platforms developed by Microsoft our customers are using. We are already have our hands on ASP.NET core and will have more to share as things mature.
